Meet Madhu Gundavaram, MD
Dr. Madhu Gundavaram joined Northwest Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in 2013. She received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India in 2001, and completed her internal medicine residency and board certification in 2005 at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, University of Chicago Hospitals.
Following her residency, Dr. Gundavaram practiced as an internal medicine physician for five years and was on staff at South Shore Hospital, St. Bernard's Hospital, and Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago. In 2010, she pursued a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine while also spending extensive time training in sleep medicine.
Dr. Gundavaram completed her fellowship at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System in 2013, and soon thereafter joined our medical team at Northwest Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. She enjoys seeing new pulmonary and sleep patients and facilitating the best care possible, in the timeliest fashion possible. Dr. Gundavaram is our primary hospital rounder, seeing new consults and our current pulmonary and ICU patients in the hospitals. She is also seeing patients in the office.
Outside of her clinical pursuits, Dr. Gundavaram is married and enjoys her other favorite role – as mother to two young children.
